The event

Enfance.S et Jeunesse.S

Growing up, finding oneself, resisting the gaze of others. Through five films with very different forms and worlds, this session explores childhood and youth as spaces of discovery, emancipation and transformation, but also of confrontation with the norms of the adult world.

The films

Still du film Bonobo.

Bonobo

Zoel Aeschbacher

Suisse · 2017 · Fiction · 20’ · vo Français

In a social-housing tower, the stories of three residents intertwine. Félix, a retiree on the 13th floor, is trapped in his apartment by a disability; Ana, a single mother on the 6th, faces eviction; Seydou, an untrained young man on the 4th, tries to pursue his passion for dance. They seem connected by one thing: the tower’s dilapidated lift, an infernal machine leading them toward an inescapably tragic fate.

Still du film Sem Asas.

Sem Asas

Wingless

Renata Martins

Brésil · 2019 · Fiction · 19’ · vo Portugais st Anglais

Zu is a 12-year-old Black boy. He goes to the grocery store to buy wheat flour for his mother and, on the way home, discovers that he can fly.

Discipline

Christophe M. Saber

Suisse · 2014 · Fiction · 12’ · vo Français/Arabe st Français

9:50 p.m., in a Lausanne grocery store run by Egyptians. Exasperated, a father loses patience and disciplines his disobedient daughter. A shocked customer voices her disagreement. Other customers intervene, everyone adds their opinion and the staff become overwhelmed. The conversation turns into a debate, the debate into an argument, and the situation gradually descends into chaos.

Still du film Um Corpo Feminino.

Um Corpo Feminino

A Female Body

Thais Fernandes

Brésil · 2018 · Documentaire · 20’ · vo Portugais st Anglais

When we give something a name, does it lose or gain meaning? “Um Corpo Feminino” proposes an apparently simple game: asking women from different generations to define something that, in theory, unites them. Part of a transmedia project, the film is the gateway to a narrative with many points of view and no single right answer.

Durée : 71’
