Identities & migration
Stories of displacement, belonging and self-construction. This theme explores multiple identities, migration, borders and the connections between here and elsewhere.
Thématiques
Through cinema, pont.E explores questions about how we live together, represent ourselves, pass things on and inhabit the world.
These themes grow out of screenings we have already created and the encounters they sparked. They are not a catalogue: together, they map an evolving territory for reflection.

Stories of displacement, belonging and self-construction. This theme explores multiple identities, migration, borders and the connections between here and elsewhere.
The body as an intimate, social and political space. Gender, norms, beauty, sport, dance and representation question how bodies are seen, experienced and set in motion.
From landscapes to the spaces we inhabit, this theme explores our relationships with territories, ecosystems and other forms of life, as well as the transformations shaping them.
Films looking at power relations, inequality and social change. Work, rights, childhood, violence and resistance become starting points for thinking about our shared world.
Families, love, separation, memory, ageing and mortality: stories rooted in intimate experience that question our relationships with others and the ways we inhabit existence.
Music, cinema, humour, dance, celebrations and creative practices open spaces where cultures circulate and are reinvented. A theme devoted to artistic practices and the imaginaries they bring to life.
A few films,
a few encounters
Across the screenings, films from Switzerland, Brazil and elsewhere have explored these questions through different forms and perspectives.
Here are some works previously screened by pont.E and the conversations they helped shape.

Maria Nicollier
In the Swiss village of Valangin, a wealthy Moroccan man wants to build a mausoleum in memory of his wife. Hassan’s extravagant project clashes with his sister-in-law’s Protestant austerity. Beneath its comedic tone, the film traces a path toward shared mourning.
