The event
Dancing, but also walking, crossing, occupying a space, moving together. “Expanded dance” invites us to see all these movements as ways of being in the world and relating to others. Through a sound piece and two films, this session explores bodies in motion, sometimes by choice, sometimes by necessity, finding in movement a space for freedom, encounter and emancipation.

In 2009, I arrived in Switzerland as an asylum seeker from Sri Lanka. I was nineteen. Three years later, I suddenly began experiencing dizziness and fainting. To understand the reasons for these intense sensations, I started looking back at my years in exile through the visual traces of my past journey.
